How Disclosure Ledger works
Four steps from a publish-bound image to a permanent, labeled-unverified public record.
Step 1
Drop image
You select or drop an image in the browser. For this MVP, image bytes stay on your device for hashing — they are not uploaded to our servers.
Step 2
Hash + provenance scan
The browser computes a SHA-256 content hash (Web Crypto) and runs a best-effort string/byte scan for possible provenance markers. That scan is not C2PA validation and may miss or mis-hint markers.
Step 3
Self-report a declaration
You choose yes / no / partial AI involvement and optional notes. The declaration is yours; we do not verify it.
Step 4
Public record + CSV
We persist the hash, declaration, provenance summary, and timestamp. You get a permanent /r/[id] page (noindex) and CSV export. Every page labels the record as self-reported and unverified.
